Gobblygook

Took a hike around Lost Mine Lake the other day.  Holy Crap, is it low.  The spring that feeds is must be exhaused.  It truly is trying to become a meadow.  Anyway, fish are still swimming, but go take a look.  Hope we get some real rain soon, but of course, not as much as Colorado!

Guess the Triathalon went well.  Best laid plans.  I set the alarm to make it there early, turned it off and went back to sleep.  Oh well, next year, hopefully.
From Womens Club: Hi CSWC Members!
Jan Guevel and Joan Hardy were our only participants for the BMS Celebration of Life Triathlon this year held at Scotts Flat Lake!
Joan sustained a torn muscle at the beginning of the race – but she’s doing OK!
Jan beat her own time from last year!
Thank you, ladies, for your spirit and determination.  Next year, we’ll kick butt!

Pam Herrenkohl, my Great Dane Rescuing hero just returned from saving a Dane named Abby from TIJUANA, MEXICO.  Now that's a hero.  Welcome to the neighborhood Abby.  You know Pam and Mark, as they are the ones driving around Cascade Shores with a pickup truck full of Danes.

If you haven't scored your firewood for the season, there is still time.  We got a cord from Dave's Sierra Firewood, and as always, it's an honest cord plus, nice and seasoned and good sized pieces.  Thanks Dave!

I have been canvasing Nevada County for auction items for Scooters Pals Dog Rescue. Their annual silent auction and PAWSTA Feed is October 5th, (Sat) from 5-10pm.  Lots of GREAT auction items and a good pasta dinner for $10. Admission is free.  Also live music.  Please come and support this great cause.  Scooters pulls at risk dogs from high kill shelters, gets them fully vetted, placed in loving foster homes till they are discovered by a deserving family.  All that for a $200 adoption fee.  The silent auction has great services, gifts and stuff you need.  The shop owners/service providers donate the goods, you pay a bit less than retail, and the dogs get the benefit.  Win, win.  By the way, every dollar goes to the dogs.  Scooters does not pay any salaries.
If you would like to donate an item or service, let me know!  Thanks.

Fall is in the air, and I'm seeing alot of yellow leaves. Should be quite a show in a few weeks.  I just love Nevada St. in the fall.  THe drive to the Northridge is breathtaking when the color show is in full swing.  Also Pasquale, when the Oaks go yellow, and the Madrona's red.  Beautiful. Take those extra few minutes to do the Pasquale drive to Red Dog.  You won't be sorry.

Thanks for the good wishes for my foster dog Kyra, who ingested something she shouldn't have.  She's 100% now, and we are looking for a good home for this sweet 7 year old mixed breed.  She's a good girl who will keep the critters away, and cuddle with you at night.  She's an alpha girl, but can live comfortably with male dogs.  A 27 lb. sweetheart, but tough as nails. We call her "la petit pitty Jolie" our sweet little pitty girl (mix).
